• GMSS96 flame sensor oxidation. The silicon nitride flame sensor on this single-stage line is reliable but sensitive to the sulfur content in Chicago’s natural gas supply, which runs higher than the national average due to regional pipeline sourcing. We clean with fine steel wool, never sandpaper, and check microamp output at the board.
